Q: What weight will be applied to each of the admissions requirements?

A: Each PT program will evaluate your application based on program-specific criteria. PTCAS does not set admissions criteria. Review the PTCAS Directory or contact your designated programs directly, if you have any questions.

Q: When will I be notified about interviews?

A: PTCAS does not notify applicants about interviews. If you are selected for an interview by any of your designated programs, then the program will contact you directly to schedule. Not all PT programs require an interview as part of the admissions process. If you have questions about the interview process, contact the individual programs directly. Interview policies and practices vary by institution.

Q: Can I be accepted by more than one PT program?

A: Yes. It is possible for an applicant to receive multiple offers of admission. If you are accepted by more than one PT program, you will need to decide which program to attend. If you decide not to enroll in a particular program, notify the institution immediately so the seat may go to another qualified applicant.

Q: Does one program know whether I applied to or have been accepted by other programs in PTCAS?

A: Beginning in early spring 2017, any designated PTCAS program that offers you admission will know how many offers of admission you have received from and accepted at other PTCAS institutions.  Programs will not know how many applications you have submitted, to which programs you have submitted them, or any other admissions decisions made by other PT programs at that time.  After the completion of the 2016-17 admissions cycle in fall 2017, programs will be able to view the other programs designated by their applicants and the final admission decision reported by each competing institution in PTCAS.

Q: What types of questions should I direct to the PT program admissions office?

A: The following issues should be directed to PT programs:

  • Specific admission requirements and policies
  • Admission decisions
  • Minimum course requirements and course substitutions
  • Interviews or review criteria
  • Foreign transcript evaluation service
  • Non-PTCAS programs and websites
  • Supplemental applications and fees

Q: Can PTCAS tell me if I have met the admission requirements of a particular program?

A: No. PTCAS cannot tell you whether you have met the minimum requirements for a particular program. Research the admission requirements in advance and contact the program directly, if you have questions.

Q: How will I be notified of any admissions decisions?

A: PT programs will contact you directly regarding all admission decisions. PTCAS cannot respond to questions about admission decisions.
